The Northern Canal Company is the administering body of the Northern Canal. It was established following the completion of the canal and the signing of the Northern Canal Company Charter, which created the company.
Structure
The canal is exclusively owned by the company, which itself is owned in three equal shares by the Air Nation, Free Territory, and Andorra. The company charter stipulates that a chairman must be elected from neither one of the shareholder states, nor one of their allies. The current occupier of this position is Pididly of the Khanate.
Rights and duties
The company permits its shareholders to use the canal freely, with all ships being permitted to move throughout. All three nations with this status are also signatories of the Open Seas Treaty, which permits certain local autonomy. The company is required to maintain the canal's passage and guarantee proper services are provided to all who traverse it, in exchange for the shareholder states guaranteeing protection and funding.
