Andorra is a country.
History
Andorra began as a small and mountainous state, located near the Southern Sea in the neutral area between the Earth Kingdom and the Free Territory. It soon accustomed itself to its neighbours, inviting the Comrade-General and Earth King to take up constitutionally affirmed positions of Co-Prince - both accepted this title.
As a primarily mountainous territory, the mountains were soon named as Peak Trans and Vid's Hole. The lower lying forest was selected as the best region for development, with small, dense housing units being established in recent years. Prior to this, Andorra was primarily agricultural, with an economy mostly sustained by its small-scale farming operations. This changed with the founding of the AAPC.
Seeking to find a monopoly on jungle resources without compromising the jungle claims of their northern neighbour Mexico, Andorran settlers headed west to settle in the only vacant known jungle. The first settlement was Ordino, which soon had built up a supply of food (in the form of the dried kelp that was to be found in abundance), bamboo, and two ships - Valata and the Salty Oyster. While the colonies were first established before the opening of the Western Canal, Andorran diplomats anticipated its arrival by negotiating with the Earth Kingdom to guarantee the passage of all Andorran ships. When the canal did open, shipping soon exploded. With the addition of further ships to the Andorran navy such as Special Case and the sale of ENS Ba Sing Se, renamed to Andorra, this saw the AAPC become a resource-rich site that provided highly strategic ports within the Western Sea. The colonies soon outranked the homeland in importance as Andorran ships traded in rare goods, such as delivering a panda from Ordino to Willowham as a gift to the High Leaf.
Mexican War Main article: Mexican War
The construction of the Northern Canal notably increased tensions between Andorra and its allies with the Air Nation, due to the canal coming very close to the Andorran border which was perceived as foreign powers interfering in Andorra's backyard. This concern caused some delay on the canal's completion until Andorran concerns could be alleviated. This was achieved by the foundation of the Northern Canal Company, which established a neutral body to govern the canal with Andorra, the Air Nation, and the Free Territory each receiving an equal stake in its control. Andorra identified a loophole to construct a bridge over the canal which it claimed absolute sovereignty over and could use to block the canal. This caused Kate, then in the Air Nation, to consider the Andorrans as unfaithful actors and thus she annexed an island off the coast of the canal's entrance unilaterally. After the Princes of Andorra threatened war over such an unprecedented action, Grandmaster Paperweight backed down as an international war would be disastrous, which prompted New Mexican secession. While the Air Nation civil war that ensued from this decision did not strictly have to include Andorra, Kate's decision to secede was largely in order to humiliate Andorra without the need for approval from the Air Nation's system of government. As a result, war was inevitable between Andorra and New Mexico.
At the outset of war, an Air Nation ship constructed in Mexico City was docked at Polaris, having arrived there as the first ship to pass through the Northern Canal. This ship was retrieved and brought back through the canal by Kate. Kami initiated a plan, using the Andorran flagship Andorra, a Kirov-class from the AAPC, wherein Kate's ship would enter the canal with Andorra in pursuit whereupon it would block the canal. This tactic mostly succeeded, as neither ship engaged each other and the New Mexican ship actually entered the canal. The plan went awry when Kami briefly disembarked to steal the island fort of its beacon - this triggered an ingame achievement, alerting Kate. Kate flew to the scene where fighting broke out, eventually claiming the capture of the Andorra. Rather than see the ship be captured, Kami implemented a move to shred the ship and prevent its capture by turning it into mycelium while it was moving. Now immovable, the encounter ended with a formal declaration of war on New Mexico by Andorra, promptly followed by its allies in the Earth Kingdom and Free Territory.
The AAPC joined Andorra in this war, as Andorra was officially from the port of Ordino. Calling upon the Federation with Ratzores, the AAPC/Andorra requested that Ratzores honour its commitments and join the war to defend its ally. Ratzores refused this request by recognising New Mexico as a legitimate government. As relations between the two states sharply soured, the federation was terminated unilaterally by Andorra.
Andorra would contribute to the land invasion of Mexico City during the war alongside the Air Nation, Cassland, Free Territory, and Fire Nation. These attacks would fail for much the same reasons as the rest of the coalition - improper armor and weaponry. In the aftermath of the war, the wreck of Andorra was left for many months as a testament to the horror of war. Many months later, the Earth Kingdom would move and refurbish the ship to its former glory.
