Firebending
Firebending is the use or control of fire via bending by a player. Firebenders carry a range of skills that let them create, manipulate, and extinguish fires and explosions. They are extremely dangerous in combat due to this and have powerful mobility, but are generally poor with defense or when they have lost the initiative in a fight.
Origin
Firebending has its origins in the Fire Nation, the indisputable home of firebending. The mystical origins of firebending remain elusive, however, although the Church of Fire believes that it is an extension of the All-Father's will in creating life, and thus that firebenders are his chosen people who are uniquely able to realise the gift of life.
Fighting style
Firebenders are highly mobile and possess a intensely powerful offensive arsenal, able to create vast amounts of fire and explosions. While they are also highly mobile, this betrays a general lack of defensive abilities. As a result, they are very vulnerable upon losing momentum as they can no longer manoeuvre to launch further attacks. While regaining this momentum is not too complex a task, this window of downtime can prove fatal. Firebenders are also generally ineffectual in large bodies of water.
Subelements can serve to emphasise certain aspects of firebending. Lightning gives a firebender far more power in water, due to lightning's arcs spreading much farther while in water, and generally improves their damage output. Combustion, conversely, is a much less precise move but is capable of generating huge explosions. Blue Fire grants no new discrete powers but increases the general strength of the user's firebending as a whole, acting as a balance.
Abilities
FireBlast. This move is the primary move of a firebender's arsenal and has two functions:
a) Click to fire. This will send a small blast of fire wherever the user points, which will ignite blocks and players, as well as deal damage.
b) Crouch. If the user holds crouch until they see flame particles, a wider and slower blast of fire will fire that does much more damage and also explodes upon impact with blocks.
FireJet The user clicks and will fly in a jetpack manner, moving wherever they point. This can be used to prevent fall damage. The block the move was started from is also ignited.
WallOfFire The user clicks and a large wall of flames is raised. This move will ignite anyone who tries to get through, and the wall is effectively impassable as it deals damage and slows down players.
Blaze This move is suited for short-range combat and has two functions:
a) Cone. Click to send a wave of flames along the ground in front of you, burning opponents
b) Ring. Tap crouch to send a wave of flames in all directions around you.
FireBurst One of the most powerful moves in firebending, this move has two functions. Both start by holding crouch until the player sees flames, then:
a) Releasing crouch. This will send a large sphere of fire in all directions and igniting all the surrounding ground. Any players caught by the sphere will be ignited and dealt damage.
b) Clicking. This will direct the fire in a cone wherever the click was pointed.
HeatControl This move controls most of the utility moves in firebending and has a vast number of uses, which are:
a) Heating food. If the user holds crouch with uncooked food in the move's slot, they will generate flame particles and the cooked food will be deposited to their inventory
b) Melting ice. If the user clicks on ice or snow, the blocks will be turned to water.
c) Solidifying lava. If the user holds crouch at lava, it will solidify to stone for a short while.
d) Extinguishing flames. By tapping crouch at fires, the user can put out large areas of fire at a distance.
e) Passive. When on the HeatControl slot, the user can be set on fire but will take 0 damage from it. This is NOT true of lava, but if the player escapes the lava then they will not take damage from being on fire.
FireShield This move is one of the few defensive moves in firebending, and has two uses:
a) Hold crouch to form a small ring of fire around you, which will block arrows and ignite mobs who try to enter.
b) Click to briefly form a small shield of fire in the air that can block attacks or arrows.
FireManipulation
TODO
Illumination This is a passive effect that gives firebenders a torch when in dark places that will follow them. If bound as a slot, the user can manually toggle it off/on by clicking.
Jets
Click to toggle flames from the feet of the user. Clicking again while in the air will cycle between two modes: hovering or flying wherever the user points.
FireBreath
Hold crouch to breath flames, akin to a dragon.
Passives
Firebenders will gain stronger firebending when they are low on health. They also have a greater resistance to Wither and Poison potion effects.
