Air Temple Valley
Air Temple Valley is one of the oldest settlements in the world and hosts the Eastern Temple. It is the former capital and founding site of the Air Nation. It was the site of the Burning of the First Temple by Fire Nation soldiers, an event that transformed the valley into a city.
The Valley, as it is often referred, would be a world leader in multiple developments. The first airships and functional docks were built there, as well as the creation of much of the Air Nation's governmental apparatus. It was the central hub of the villager trade, a market which drew condemnation from Central Sea powers but saw handsome profits from Fire Nation clientele. The Air Nation would put these resources to use by annexing territories to its west, thereby creating strategic depth due to the Fire Nation's proximity to the Valley.
With the expansion to other temples and the ascension of Inkwood as the new capital, the Valley would lose its preeminence. While its position is greatly respected, it is now considered one of the sleepier cities of the nation. Despite this, it remains key to connecting the Air and Fire Nations to one another, as epitomised by the Harmony Protectorate.
