Metalbending
Metalbending is a subelement of earthbending that allows an earthbender to perform all of their earthbending moves on metal blocks such as iron, netherite, gold, quartz, chains, and ores with increased power by 50%. While these circumstances are somewhat rare, metalbenders are also capable of affecting other metalworks such as iron doors or using iron ingots as a weapon, making them dangerous in all situations. Many of their moves require metal items in their inventory.
Abilities
MetalClips
This move is somewhat complex but has 3 modes:
a) Attack. The user fires 1-4 iron ingots at a target, which will cover them in iron armour. This will not do damage or knockback.
b) Control. By holding crouch, the user will be able to control the now-armoured target. This control becomes stronger the more iron that is placed - if only 1 ingot has been fired, the control just pulls the target towards the user slowly. If all 4 have been fired, it resembles bloodbending. Like bloodbending, the target can be thrown by clicking while holding them.
c) Draw. After losing control, the iron armour will be released as ingot drops. These can be pulled back towards the user by holding crouch, similar to EarthGrab, and will work with any iron ingots nearby.
Extraction
By holding crouch at metal ores (iron, gold, quartz, netherite), metalbenders are able to extract 1-3 ingots per block without requiring smelting or crafting or any tools. This makes them highly efficient miners, as they're able to achieve yields per-ore comparable to a Fortune pickaxe without the need of smelting or a pickaxe.
MetalCables
This move grants the user metal cables, extending from the arms, which can be used for a variety of things. It is a MultiAbility, meaning that it temporarily replaces the users slots with new move-specific slots. These are as follows:
1-2) Grapple left/right. Launch a cable that will travel forward. Once it has hit something, you'll hear a metal sound. Then hold sneak to pull yourself towards the hit point. Releasing sneak near the hit point will cause the cable to disappear.
3) Grapple both. This function will launch both grapple cables at once. Sneaking on this ability will pull you towards the middle point of both cables, or to a single one if only one cable has hit something.
4) Grapple clear. This function will make all shot grapple cables disappear.
5-6) Grab left/right. This function will shoot out a cable that will wrap around the first entity in its path. Sneaking pulls the entity towards yourself. The tangled entity can resist. For instance, a firejetting target will be harder to pull in than a walking one. The tangled entity can only use basic bending moves while tangled.
7-8) Slam left/right. This function will shoot out a cable that will damage the first entity it hits.
9) Exit. This function will put the user out of the multiability. Once this is done, the cooldown is applied.
QuickWeld
If a user places a damaged metal tool in this slot and holds crouch, ingots will be withdrawn from their inventory and will repair the tool.
Shrapnel
Click to fire iron or gold nuggets in the user's inventory, or click while holding crouch to fire many like a shotgun blast, dealing damage to enemies.
MagnetShield
By holding crouch with this move, all metal ingot or nugget attacks will be repelled from the user.
MetalShred
Crouch near a flat metal surface and run alongside it. This will open a hole, which will stay open until you switch abilities or attempt to make a new hole.
Passive
Metalbenders have a passive ability to open or close iron doors by simply tapping crouch at them, regardless of the presence or absence of redstone circuitry.
