Earthbending
Earthbending is the use or control of the earth via bending by a player. Earthbenders carry a range of skills that let them throw, drag, and rupture the ground. They are extremely dangerous on land due to this and have powerful offense and defense but are generally poor at mobility or when they have lost their connection to the ground.
Earthbenders have a passive effect of not taking fall damage on any block made of earth.
Origin
Earthbenders had a rather troubled early history, with many states being proclaimed yet either collapsing or falling victim to foreign manipulation. The first truly independent earthbender state came with Ainin's Earth Kingdom.
The mystical origins of earthbending remain elusive, however many theories exist. Adherents to Celestialism consider it as a gift granted by the Badger-Moles in prehistory, while Empyreans consider earthbenders to have betrayed their own consciousness. Debate shall continue indefinitely.
Fighting style
Earthbending offers its users heavy attacks and powerful defense. This comes at the expense of mobility, as earthbenders move much slower than other elements on the whole. Additionally, they are highly dependent on solid ground to fight. While this isn't a particularly demanding request, as most locations will have earth on the ground, this can put earthbenders in a deeply vulnerable place in large bodies of water or while midair.
Some subelements can serve to compensate these weaknesses or enhance what assets exist. Sandbending provides yet more power to those who reside in sandy environments, while Lavabending provides such an incredible increase in offensive power that it can prove self-destructive. Metalbending compensates for the previously mentioned vulnerabilities when removed from solid ground and mobility by providing a new set of resources to bend, which can be carried, and vastly expanded mobility via MetalCables.
Abilities
TremorSense
Not the most useful of moves, this has two forms:
a) Passive. Without being bound, the user can stand on any earth block in the dark and a glowstone block will follow them, lighting their area. Only they can see the glowstone.
b) Active. By binding the move, the user can click at earth, smoke particles will display if there is air underneath the clicked area.
Shockwave
To use, the user holds crouch until smoke appears. They can then either:
a) Release crouch, causing a large ripple of earth to spread in all directions, causing high knockback and high damage to any hit by it
b) Click, causing the same effect except in a cone shape wherever the click was pointed rather than in circular.
If a user lands on earth from a height while on the Shockwave slot, this move will trigger automatically without the need to charge.
EarthGrab
If the user clicks, a small ripple of earth will shoot from wherever they fire from. If it hits a mob or player, then the target will be pinned to the ground and unable to move or bend. The target can escape by repeatedly right clicking the floor, and Earthbenders caught in the trap can escape by tapping crouch.
Additionally, if the user holds crouch with this move, any nearby drops that are on top of earth blocks will be drawn towards them.
EarthBlast
The basic attack move for an earthbender, the user taps crouch to select a source block (it will change appearance to indicate its selection) and then clicks to fire at a target. Multiple clicks can be made to change direction mid-air. This move can be fired very rapidly and is a foundational component of an earthbender offense. The block fired will also be released as a drop, allowing users to patch up holes in the ground.
Catapult
One of the few aids to earthbender mobility, the user holds crouch until hearing a sound and then releases to fire directly upwards. Additionally, if they land from a height while on the Catapult slot, earth pillars will throw any and all surrounding mobs/players into the air.
EarthSmash
A powerful and versatile move, the user holds crouch until seeing smoke and then releases crouch at a point in the ground. This will generate a large 3x3x3 boulder. This boulder can then be
a) Controlled, by holding crouch at it. This acts as a hypermobile shield that will follow wherever the cursor points, but will disintegrate after taking a certain number of enemy hits.
b) Fired, by clicking somewhere while controlling it. This is extremely hard for an enemy to dodge and can do upwards of 3 hearts of damage.
c) Ridden, by climbing on top of the boulder and holding crouch. This behaves somewhat like a jetpack as it follows wherever the users cursor points, and can be stopped early by releasing crouch while flying.
RaiseEarth
The user has two options for use here:
a) Clicking at a piece of earth, causing it to raise up as a pillar.
b) Tapping crouch at earth, causing a wall to raise
The distance the earth is raised by is equal to the blocks of earth directly underneath the target, with a maximum of 8. This means that if the user were to click a single block of earth floating in air, it would move up only one block. If it were 3 blocks deep, each block would move up by 3. In deep earth, it moves up by 8.
Earth can only move into air or water blocks, it cannot move into any others.
Collapse
The user has two options for use here:
a) Clicking at the bottom of a piece of earth, causing it to descend as a pillar
b) Tapping crouch at earth, causing a cylinder to descend.
The distance the earth descends by is equal to the blocks of earth directly underneath the target, with a maximum of 8. This means that if the user were to click a single block of earth floating in air, it would move down only one block. If it were 3 blocks deep, each block would move down by 3. In deep earth, it moves down by 8.
Due to the cylinder for Collapse being much larger than the walls made by RaiseEarth, it is possible for one action with Collapse to reduce walls made by multiple actions of RaiseEarth.
EarthTunnel
The user holds crouch at earth and begins to carve out a tunnel of earth. The tunnel is temporary and will fill back in, but the applications for mining or temporary tunnels are self-evident.
EarthArmor
The user clicks towards at least 2 earth blocks, and they will form a temporary Resistance buff as well as leather armour on the user. This consumes the blocks used, which will fly towards the user.
EarthKick
Tap crouch at earth, which fire a wave of rocks wherever you point, dealing damage to enemies.
EarthLine
Tap crouch at an earth block to select a source, and then click to fire an attack that follows the ground.
EarthSurf
Click while just above the ground level, and you will surf forward on a wave of earth.
EarthShard
Tap crouch to select an earth block which will float upwards, and click to fire.
EarthPillar
Click an earth block to create a sideways pillar.
EarthGlove
Click to fire and grab or harm an enemy. If you hold crouch at someone grabbed, they will be pulled towards you.
EarthGuard
Click on earth to receive armor (if you are a metalbender and click on metal, the armor will be said metal). Tap crouch at earth to raise a temporary shield.
Dig
Hold crouch at earth to dig a tunnel wherever you are pointing.
Bulwark
Hold crouch at earth to raise a wall, which will drop when you stop crouching.
