The Galethii Free State is a state north of the Free Territory and run by the Galethii, a Spirit Valley Tribe, although many accuse the Free Territory of running the Free State as a puppet. It briefly existed as the first and only independent NPC state in the plane until the current Princess Regent, Dandelion, assumed control on August 21, 2022 in the wake of the mysterious illness which befell the state's ruler, Galethiiken Suhra.
History
The Galethii first enter recorded history upon crossing the Free Territory's eastern frontier. As part of the exodus of the Spirit Valley Tribes, they had crossed the Gale Mountains and almost instantly came into conflict with local anarchists. The use of chiblocking also heightened tensions, being seen as unnatural and thus spirit-related magic by the tribespeople. Orders were issued to intern the Galethii into camps in order to reduce these ethnic tensions, however this only increased hostility from the Galethii towards the anarchists as having humiliated their people.

Geography
Unlike their valley origins, the current territory of the Free State is small and densely wooded, with rivers defining much of its internal mobility. River traffic acts as a major avenue for mobility, as Den Mira, the capital, connects to Puerto del Este in the Free Territory and Riversway in the Air Nation via the waterways.
Government and politics
The state is heavily influenced by the nearby government of the Free Territory, but is not itself anarchist. Traditional methods of leadership are used, namely consensus-forming and debate in the longhouses. Anarchist influence is expressed in the much stronger emphasis of debate and democratic governance than before, with the title of "Galethiiken" technically referring to the chief of the tribe but having only ceremonial powers. As the head of state, the Galethiiken is responsible for diplomacy and military affairs. The Galathiiken is selected by a Thing in which each community exercises one vote, with consensus among communities formed in the longhouse debates.
Economy
The Galethii economy is, for now, primarily agrarian and focused on subsistence. Limited trade occurs with its neighbours in the Air Nation and Free Territory, but suspicion of outsiders and a lack of manufacturing has left trade lacking for now.
Demographics
The vast majority of the Free State is Galethii, however a noticeable presence exists of anarchists, traders from the Air Nation, and the largest minority being Toshkii who have recently left the Air Nation after refusing to convert to Empyreanism.
Culture
The Galethii are practitioners of the Cult of the Mountain, acting as the only state with a tribal religion as their official faith.
