Ratue of Liberty
The Ratue of Liberty is a large copper statue of a rat holding a torch aloft. It is located in the north-western most tip of the AAPC, and is intended to act as a monument to all passing ships. It heralds their entry to the waters of Ratzores and serves as a regional icon.
Ownership dispute
While the Ratue was built entirely with Ratzorean materials and labour, the location is outside of its borders. This is because Ratzores and the AAPC initially formed a regional federation to coordinate foreign policy and resource allocation. To some extent, the Ratue is a monument to this federation's achievements - it signals prosperity and freedom on the western frontier, perfectly situated between the two blocs.
The federation formally dissolved after the outbreak of the Mexican War, where Andorra called Ratzores to arms. After this call was declined, as the Ratzorean Assembly voted to recognise New Mexico. Andorra unilaterally dissolved the Federation shortly after this. The status of the Ratue's legal ownership post-Federation remains up for debate.
