The Burners, or Burnerism, are a group of Flametouched fundamentalists that interpret the doctrine of the Church of Fire in a militant and expansionist manner. The movement is most closely associated with the Duchy of Lightning, but also has significant presence in Skimmerhamn and in parts of the Duchy of Yorktown. The movement takes its name from the the "Baron's Burn", a highly destructive war of conquest waged by Baron Bigby Branson against the Carnii during the War of the Flowers.
