Institute for Empyrean Studies
The Institute for Empyrean Studies is a study program run by the Air Nation for aspiring foreign academics. The Institute does not consist of a specific campus with a dedicated premises, but instead is a legal formality which enables foreign students to enroll in domestic classes offered within the Air Nation's many temples, with all pathways offering a chance to visit all five of the temples.
The Institute was founded on the 22nd of May 2022 after the Air Nation Foreign Ministry established the program, extending details on its programmes and admission requirements to Air Nation embassies across the plane. Students are taught a variety of subjects but emphasis is placed on fields which the Air Nation is a world leader in, such as aeronautics, Empyrean theology, law, history, and the culture of the Air Nation's ethnic minorities such as the Toshkii and Sun People. Admissions are processed at Inkwood by the Foreign Ministry, and applications are submitted through Air Nation embassies. The sole exception to this is the Institute's exchange program with Ba Sing Se University, as agreed in the Treaty of Highwind.
