The Ithenberger Supremacy refers to a period where the kings of Ithenberg ruled over Valena. It was created after Lann Entarigon successfully defeated the Second Cxabro at the Battle of Bloody Fields in the culmination of Lann's Revolt, and reunified Valena at the Battle of Mathengar. The Supremacy de facto ended at the Battle of Morthen when an army led by Lann's great-grandson, Emethir, defeated that of the incumbent ruler and his own father, Nathel. Both men died on the field and the Ithenberger troops were forced to retreat to their homeland. The Ithenberger claim over the entire continent would only end when the last Ithenberger king, Athelna, was killed by his own men who swore themselves to Trolvistan.

Lann Supreme

Lann was never formally coronated as 'Supreme', the title being merely an honorific accorded to him during his lifetime. His early reign was defined by an enduring and persistent sense of anarchy and chaos. Lann's revolution had effectively destroyed the entire bureaucracy of Valena's governance as well as most of the bureaucratic class.

Danathion Supreme

Shortly after Lann's death, his son Danathion was proclaimed as the new Supreme. This act in and of itself was met with some ire, as many aristocrats had believed that Lann's government was a military alliance against any possible spirit resurgence, rather than a hereditary monarchy. Despite these concerns, there was no real incentive for them to revolt: the imperial cult had been destroyed, the last major army to resist Lann had been destroyed at Mathengar some years prior, and Danathion's temperament was well-suited for rule.

Coronated at the age of 38, Danathion gave a brief speech, part of which survives: <quote> ... in this day of gold and sun. I ask of you this, my lords - what is to become of our peoples? Now is not the time for us to remember the pestilential air of the spirits that dulled our minds. Let us find joy in this springtime of princes, let us rekindle our blood with that of our ancestors in the Mythic Age. If we are to... </quote>
