Humans

Humans are the most widespread and dominant race. They are uniquely capable of both bending, the only species with members capable of telekinetically moving one of the four elements; and Chiblocking, a martial art that allows the practitioner to temporarily stun bending in an opponent.

With few exceptions, humans form the majority of the population of the majority of states, with all other states being governed by spirits.
