Albion is a country.
History
The region now known as Albion once existed as a variety of independent states, including the kingdoms of Audley, Chafford, and Ongar. These were held under vassalage by the Hitzeverein, also known as the Hitsereign, a firebending state to the north centred on Burnham. Using the advantage of firebending, Hitzeverein held its southern neighbours as vassals and extracted tribute from them. During the Twenty-Six Years' War, resistance movements flared up and were often crushed brutally as seen during the destruction of Chafford, ultimately culminating in a period of "Direct Rule" which could be said to be the first unification of Albion. Over time, those who resisted Direct Rule and the Hitzeverein would come to develop chiblocking independently as part of the Army of Audley. This force would soon push back using a variety of non-conventional tactics, leaving the Hitzeverein forces off balance. This push would lead to the complete destruction of the Hitzeverein, the unification of Albion, and the end of the Twenty-Six Years' War. It would also establish Albion's long legacy of anti-bending sentiments.

Government and politics
Albion's government is characterised by a fusion of powers, with executive power held by the Queen of Albion and exercisable on the advice of Ministers of the Crown. The legislature is the Parliament of Albion, composed of the upper House of Lords, the lower House of Commons, and the Crown-in-Parliament.
Executive powers
All laws in Albion are formally made by the Queen and the Royal Prerogative is limited only by constitutional convention. Acts made solely by exercise of the Royal Prerogative do not have any less force of law than Acts of the Parliament of Albion: the Bending Act 2022 was enacted solely by the Royal Prerogative and remains in force today.
Day-to-day administration of the state is the responsibility of the Ministers of the Crown, all of whom are by convention members of the Parliament of Albion, though they may be drawn from either House. Ministers generally exercise powers through advice to the Queen, though some delegated powers do exist. Ministers serve at the pleasure of the Crown, though the convention of responsible governance demands that they maintain the confidence of Parliament.
There are six Ministers of the Crown, each administering a single Ministry. Collectively, the Ministries form Her Majesty's Government.
