			During the [[Mexican War]], [[Andorra]] called upon [[Ratzores]] to enter the war against [[New Mexico]] as part of its obligations under the Federation. Ratzores refused, controversially recognising the New Mexican state as legitimate. This caused the Federation to be dissolved unilaterally by Andorra, seeing it as without purpose.

			Following the war, Andorra entered a steady decline. Agitators within the AAPC campaigned for greater distance to be implemented from Andorra, much to the ire of the Andorrans. Negotiations failed, culminating in a unilateral proclamation of independence on 16 January 2022

			The peoples of our parishes came to these islands from the seas, wishing for a better life and a new path ahead. We have pursued this goal with industry, culture, and vitality. The furnaces of Espoo and the farms of Ordino fuel our communities, as L'Alguer and Andorra La Nova ship our products to the entire world.

			Our islands are the jewel of the west and yet we are disrespected by the diktats of La Vella. They are a mountain people, landlocked and small. They cannot know of our way of life, for they cannot experience it in any manner except in how to tax it. They have brought us into valiant yet failed wars for far-off lands, and dissolved our own federation unilaterally. Their time here is respected, but must come to its natural close.

			We do not wish to be the enemies of Andorra, but it is clear that we cannot be friends with those who dominate and oppress us. The time has come for our Mancomunitat de Parròquies Occidentals to restore the former Federació Occidental. We hereby call on the government of the Ratzorean People's Republic to lend its support to this cause and restore the Western Sea to its former glory.

			Ratzores accepted this petition, and established the Federació Occidental under their protection.
