== Mexican War ==

During the [[Mexican War]], Inkwood suffered a great deal of damage from New Mexican invaders, primarily explosives. More damage yet was caused as [[Fire Nation]] soldiers, fighting to defend the capital, accidentally caused small fires. At one point, the Great Hall almost burned down, temporarily causing a ceasefire until the flames could be restrained. Following the two battles at Inkwood, the city was left devastated. A prompt reparation effort took place, restoring life to the capital.

Some of its residents fled the city, arriving at the [[Floating City]] where they mingled with Mexican refugees to form that city's new and unique cultural atmosphere.
